Most of our personal, social and economic activities depend in some way on freshwater. Having opened the country to exploration, freshwater has also played a key role in Canada's geography and history. And it's so abundant that Canada's rivers and lakes contain enough freshwater to cover the entire country with a layer more than two meters thick. But what can we do to protect it from the 100,000 chemicals on the market that end up in our waterways? This episode looks at wastewater, watersheds, sewage systems and water treatment plants.
