Neither public nor private, Ontario's Francophone community radio stations have a direct influence on the vitality of the communities they serve. Whether in Hearst, Cornwall, Ottawa or elsewhere, these radios strive to promote local culture with the means at hand. In this context, Chris St-Pierre, host at CKGN, the Kapuskasing community radio station, and Natalie Bernardin, executive director of the Association of Song and Music Professionals, discuss the value of playing music in English on French-language community radios. One supports the idea, while the other fiercely opposes it.
