The Ontario government has decided to ban cell phones from classrooms in its public schools as of this school year (2019-2020). The Ontario Ministry of Education says it wants students to focus more on learning without distraction. In fact, according to Statistics Canada, only 20% of teens ages 12 to 17 follow the screen time guidelines, which means no more than two hours a day in a recreational manner.
