Paving consists of geometric shapes that touch without leaving any gaps or overlapping. Two investigators go in search of paving by finding everyday objects. Pavements can also be found in the division of floors, in arts such as quilting, on the shell of a turtle and more. Indeed, these patterns are not only formed by humans, but can also be found in nature. To differentiate between types of paving, mathematicians developed the terms carrelage, mosaïque and pavage. Participants are challenged to create a repeated pattern. In some paving, triangles can undergo reflection, translation or rotation.
