Histoire Max
A series of seven chronicles in which Maxine, a reporter, tells us about past events that are part of Canadian history. She meets various characters who have helped to shape the Francophone landscape of contemporary Canada. During Max’s travels, students gain a better understanding of the reactions of the people and leaders to many key events, including the Constitutional Act, the Act of Union, the Rebellions, the War of 1812, the beginning of Confederation and the Boer War. Through this series, students are able to create connections between the past and the present, understanding the sequence of events that led Canada to what it is today and the role it can play in changing its future.
