Le printemps des voyageurs
A series that first describes how travellers crossed the continent and reached the Pacific Ocean. The second episode deals with the war between the North West and Hudson’s Bay companies and its consequences for the Métis people. Through this historical reconstruction, we learn how the lives of travellers, the fur trade and the alliance of Native and European cultures led to the founding of Canada. This documentary series leads students to connect political, ecological, economic and social forces and understand the significant events that have led our country to what it is today. The collaboration of different nations has allowed a rapid evolution of beliefs and knowledge sharing: a model of mutual aid that remains relevant today.
