Le Divan: Regulation 17
François Charbonneau is an Associate Professor at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. He is primarily interested in the history of political ideas and matters of identity. Along with Professor Michel Bock, he wrote Le Siècle du Règlement 17, released in June 2015. François Charbonneau discusses the eventuality of an official apology from the Government of Ontario for the adoption of Regulation 17 in 1912. This regulation, which was abrogated in 1927, was primarily aimed at forbidding French in schools.
