There is always someone to tell Hugo what to do, and most of the time it's for his own good. However, there will sometimes people who try to influence him to do silly things, like his friend the clever monkey.

All children grow up one day, even Hugo. One day he will have to find a job, he will have his own house, maybe even a family. But can adults behave like children from time to time?

Hugo gets bigger every day. Growing up is exciting, one day we might be able to do crazy things like piloting an airplane. But with all these things to learn and discover, Hugo wonders if we stop growing one day.

Oscar is frightened by an ugly monkey. Hugo is afraid of thunder, and both are afraid of a big spider. Together, they discover what fear is and how to fight it.

When Hugo falls asleep, he dreams a lot. He dreams that he flies with dragons and races with panthers. But even when awake, he dreams standing. He dreams that he can leap high in the sky. Hugo wonders what dreams really are.

Hugo is anxious to be tall, to be able to drive a car, to watch scary movies and to be able to do whatever he wants. He quickly learns that adults have far less freedom than children.

Hugo organizes a showdown between an elephant and an ant. He learns that an ant is really tough for its size. Hugo also learns that strength is also in the mind.

Hugo has a vivid imagination, which helps him to invent games that are as incredible as they are fun. Félix and Lily show Hugo how to use his imagination to solve his problems and sometimes even others.

Hugo finds it scary to see giant robots fighting, and even more annoying to argue with his friends. But he discovers that sometimes people have to fight to defend others. With great courage, Hugo helps a princess in the grip of an evil dragon.

Some choices are easy to make; what to play with, who. But Hugo discovers that making certain choices proves to be very difficult, and that sometimes, he does not even have a choice.

Hugo has a large family. He has two sisters, a dad, a mom, a granny, cousins ??and many more. Others who also have a father, mother and cousins. Maybe one day Hugo will also build his own family.

The Yeti loves his teddy bear and the elephant loves his skateboard. Hugo discovers love by observing the people and their objects around him, as well as the way they are attached to it.

Hugo is convinced that he needs a monkey to play with him. He doesn't think he needs books or sleep. Félix and Lily help Hugo understand the difference between wanting and needing.
