Self-regulation is central to the development of young children. It is the cornerstone on which to build the child's long-term physical, psychological, behavioral and academic well-being. How does self-regulation manifest itself? What can we do as educators or parents to improve children's ability to self-regulate? This is what we are going to learn in this series!

In support of the Ontario Kindergarten Program, this series targets the area of self-regulation and well-being. Each episode is based on one of the essential stages in the development of self-regulation, which are: self-control, emotional regulation, self-discipline and self-determination. Educational teams and parents will discover how these steps are implemented through several concrete examples of interactions between adults and children at school, at home and in other everyday contexts. Our expert in self-regulation, Doctor Stéphane Beaulne, professor, researcher and clinician, is there to provide details on key points in learning self-regulation. Finally, each episode ends with a short animated story for children. The latter will meet the young Otto who, just like them, is learning to self-regulate.

Self-regulation is an everyday adventure. Thanks to this series, we will see how it is possible to develop, one step at a time, a safe and caring environment that promotes the well-being of everyone, kids and adults alike!
