Among Newfoundlanders, vernacular art, often called folk art or crafts, has long been, and continues to be, an important part of their daily lives. But there are also plenty of modern visual artists like Denis Abrard, Danielle Loranger and Dominique Hurley. Now all three based on the island of Newfoundland, these francophone visual artists have one thing in common, a deep-rooted passion for art and creation.
