French is not an official language in Romania, but many still choose to pursue their university studies in the language of Molière. And in Romania, it’s not complicated. Most universities offer entire degree programs in French across nearly all disciplines. How can we explain the popularity of French-language higher education in this Eastern European country? Journalist Étienne Fortin-Gauthier looked into the question.
