A watershed is an area of land where all of the surface water empties into one place. It is the elevation of the land that determines where the water flows from. In Canada, our largest open basins flow into the Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Hudson Bay, Atlantic Ocean, or Gulf of Mexico.
