Alone

Every year, more than 400 children arrive alone at the Canadian border to claim refugee status. Fearing for their lives, Afshin, Alain and Patricia left their country without their parents. All three began a journey that would lead them, after several months of uncertainty, to Canada: Afshin left Iran in 1986, Alain left Burundi in 2009 and Patricia left Uganda in 2019. Mixing live action and animation, Seuls is a film of hope: how does a child manage to rebuild himself in a new country, when he has left everything behind, even his parents?
