The red squirrel is a small rodent mammal found throughout Canada. Research technician Kirsten Désorcy accompanies researcher Alex Windsor to Churchill to collect the latest data from a pioneering red squirrel project. Years of research have shown that the squirrel survives in this ecosystem at the edge of the boreal forest and tundra because it nests underground rather than in trees.
