Les macareux et les océanites cul-blanc
Along the coast of Newfoundland, in Verde Bay and Witless Bay, two species of birds are suffering from the same negative effect that threatens their survival: light pollution. Every morning, hundreds of puffins and white-tailed terns can be found washed up on the shore; attracted by the lights of industrial sites, they crash into their walls during the night. Biologist Sabina Wilhelm and doctoral student Fiona Le Taro are studying light pollution to ensure the survival of the white-tailed storm petrel and the puffin, the emblem of Newfoundland.
