Her siblings panic and alert their mother who goes looking for her. The twins discuss past joys as Paul recounts his dream from last night. Just as the children think they see their mother and Irene arrive, they realize that a stranger is approaching the house. Panic sets in as the children hide inside. The dogs bark and howl as Eric fires a shotgun to scare off the stranger.
