Yao has more than one string to his bow and more than one way to escape from his creative and artistic life. The adopted Ottawan talks about the importance of sport as an outlet in his life, and takes advantage of his visit to the Ontario capital to exchange a few blows and holds with one of his friends at the Toronto BJJ martial arts school. Given his atypical background, it was logical that his visit continued in the business district, where he spent a few years before resigning to devote himself to his artistic career. He performs some of his creations, notably 'Perles' and 'Disjoncter', two pieces with diametrically opposed rhythms, testifying to the multiple facets of his musical personality. This is followed by a walk along the waterfront in Humber Bay Park, where he stretches his line in the waters of Lake Ontario with his keyboardist Marianne. Accompanied by his musicians, he also shares his vision of the future over a meal in a Cuban restaurant in the heart of the Portuguese Quarter. As if the mixing of genres goes far beyond his musical universe.
