Alfred is a small village well known in Eastern Ontario because of its reformatory school, which became the only agricultural college in the country, and also because of its immense 9000 acres peat bog filled with ecological treasures. It is not for nothing that Jean Poirier, the former 'green' MPP of the area, nicknamed it 'Our Northern Galapagos'. Alfred, a beautiful story of friendship.
