Parc national Wood Buffalo, Alberta - 1

Jean-Luc Brassard goes to Wood Buffalo National Park of Canada, the largest national park! This park was created to protect the last herds of bison in northern Canada. The park received UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1983 due to the many rare and extraordinary natural phenomena that set it apart. Indeed, it is here in Wood Buffalo that we find vast salt plains that do not exist anywhere else in the world! Jean-Luc discovers a colony of pelicans and the way their behaviour is studied. He also explores the formation of sinkholes in a forest. Jean-Luc will take advantage of his stay in the park to discover the lunar landscape of Grosbeak Lake, go rafting on the Slave River, observe bison, swim in an ouvala and take part in a canoe race on Lac Pine!
