Since the 1970s, the village of Verner, like so many others in the Lake Nipissing area, has undergone many changes. One of these changes, the phenomenon of municipal consolidation, has threatened the integrity of the village and the ties that bind the people who live there. Nevertheless, the Verner people are intimately connected to their family roots and are all the more supportive.
